Anchors Aweigh!

"Anchoring" describes the human tendency to rely too heavily on one trait or piece of data when making decisions. The recent USA Today article "Learn this trick and you'll spend less" describes how anchors act as dead weight in our brains and nowhere is this more pronounced than with money.

Anchoring is the topic of a Cooperative Group Activity at the end of Chapter 3 in Elementary Statistics 13th Edition.
